On the Mat
It’s difficult to be a spark amidst a rain shower. The spark is drowned out. Yet if many, many sparks join, you have a strong flame which will be much more difficult to be drowned out. This is the analogy I use when describing a major benefit of yoga classes and studios. You could say the classes and studios are gathering places for like minded people, which we would call community. What happens here is not simply the all important personal practice, what also happens at the studios is support and reinforcement in a yoga mentality. The teachings, conversations, reminders, the focus, the practice, the strength in numbers. This can be a very important tool in keeping your boat headed in the right direction, or from completely tipping over. As well it strengthens your flame so that the next thunder storm doesn’t wipe you out. The mentality that we are cultivating in the temple of our yoga studio is not a mentality that is supported out there in the world so much, maybe not even in the home. So our studio is a sanctuary where we can strengthen and regenerate our yogic principles so that we can continue to carry these principles forth more easily into our lives, sharing them with all that we encounter.
Yes, it is true that that I am trying to talk you into coming to our PowerYoga Studio, or any studio where your own morals, values and integrity will be supported and facilitated. I want to remind you that this is why we are here. A donation based studio was not devised to generate tremendous profits for it owners (although the instructors do appreciate your donations as this is how they survive). A donation based studio was devised to contribute positively and powerfully to its community. I want to remind you that we are here and we have some of the most talented and good hearted instructors in LA.
Welcome to Power Yoga.
